These terms and conditions apply to all therapies.

Please read https://www.debbiewaller.com/confidentiality-policy to find out your rights under the GDPR.

When you submit my client form, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions listed below. Please contact me before submitting your form if there is anything in these terms and conditions that you don’t understand.

Payment

a) Session fees. You (the client) agree to undertake therapy with Debbie Waller, at the costs stated on this page – FEES. Payment is due by 5 pm the day before your session, and the appointment will be cancelled if payment is not received.

b) Cancellation fees. You can cancel or reschedule appointments, but 24 hours’ notice is required. If you fail to attend without this notice you will be liable to pay for the session.

c) (i) Refunds. Individual sessions paid for in advance but not used will be refunded on request, subject to item (b). Refunds will reflect the actual price paid and must be requested within three months of the date of payment, or the last session held, whichever is later.
(ii) No refunds are made for sessions that have taken place.
(iii) No refunds are made for sessions that are part of a specific programme of therapy (e.g., for smoking cessation, gut-directed hypnotherapy or hypnotension) even if you choose not to complete all the sessions.

All services

d) You accept that my services are offered based on the information you supply and affirm that this has been complete and truthful.

e) I will always do my best to help you reach your goals. However, you acknowledge that no guarantees are offered and that the results of therapy vary between individuals.

f) If you arrive more than 5 minutes late you will have to shorten or re-schedule your appointment.

g) Anti-social behaviour will cause the immediate cessation of the session, with no refund. This includes you attending under the influence of alcohol or other mind-altering substances.

Online services

h) If we are working online, you accept that I cannot be held responsible if levels of confidentiality are affected by factors beyond my control, for example, the actions or failures of the platform provider (e.g., Zoom).

i) If we are working online, you accept that it is your responsibility to ensure that you are not interrupted or overheard by others at your end of the connection.

j) If we are working online, you agree that we are working under the jurisdiction of the laws and regulations in force in England and Wales.

Confidentiality

k) The information you give me will be kept confidential unless one of the following applies:

  • there is a legal requirement for me to share it e.g., where the Children’s Act applies or a court order is issued,
  • I have cause to believe that not disclosing the information would expose you/others to a serious risk of harm.

l) If you are referred by a third party such as an employer or GP, or if I am working as part of a care team, I will share prearranged levels of information with the others involved. These will be given to you in writing and form part of our agreement.

m) I train and mentor other therapists. I occasionally share anonymous case histories with them verbally or in books or articles for the purposes of supervision or training. Anonymous means that some details are removed or changed so that you could not be recognised. If you wish to opt out of this use of your data, please let me know in writing.

Complaints

n) If you have any questions or complaints about your therapy, you agree to contact me about them first. If we can’t resolve the situation satisfactorily you then have access to the formal complaints procedure of the General Hypnotherapy Register, 01590-683770.

Liability

o) (i) I will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform or delay in performance of, any of these contractual obligations which are caused by events outside my reasonable control.
(ii) To the fullest extent permitted by law, my total liability to you for any claims, losses, or damages arising out of or in connection with this contract, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, will be limited to the total amount you have paid for therapy services within the last six months or £100, whichever is lower.
(iii) This limitation of liability applies to all claims, including those for personal injury or property damage, except where liability cannot be limited by law (such as in cases of death or personal injury caused by negligence).
