Lots of people ask me how to help someone with anxiety so I thought now, in Mental Health Awareness Month, would be a good time to answer that question.
According to Mental Health UK, around 8 million people in the UK are experiencing anxiety at any one time. That’s equivalent to almost the entire population of London, and more than the number of people who live in Yorkshire and Humberside. That makes it very likely you already know at least one person who has an anxiety disorder of some kind.
If you are close to someone struggling with anxiety, it’s natural to want to help them. But doing so in the right way is important. Here are some tips to use if you’re asked for help, or notice a problem.
