The Hypnotherapist's Companion* - (author) a practical guide to practice including advice on therapy plans that are both flexible and structured; developing your client skills: running your business; troubleshooting (tricky client questions) and Questions from the Front Line - real queries from practising therapists.
Their Worlds, Your Words* - (author) if you are a hypnotherapist who struggles to write and adapt scripts so they are personalised and meaningful for your clients, this book is for you. I will tell you how to ‘use what the client gives you’ to develop interventions which will give the greatest possibility of success. I'll lead you step-by-step through the most effective way to organise your information gathering, and then show you by means of examples how to pick out the most appropriate information for your session and use it to help the client achieve their goals.
The Hypnotherapy Handbook - (co-author) a useful read for those just setting up in business as it also contains chapters on dealing with other commonly presented issues and business building. Click on the book title to purchase the book from Amazon.
Hypnotherapy and IBS: a guide for hypnotherapists - if you prefer to simply read the IBS chapter, the ebook contains this along with two scripts - the one which appears on the Handbook plus a bonus script unique to this version. To purchase this ebook by PayPal, simply click the title. The book will be emailed to you when we receive your payment.
CPD training - please see my hypnotherapy CPD website for details of workshops and online/distance courses.

Each hypnotherapy professional body will have its own rules about the supervision you are expected to undertake, and for how long. For example, hypnotherapists registered with the G.H.R. are required to engage in supervision for a minimum of 2 hours in any 3 month period during their first 2 years of practice. But most other talking therapists (counsellors etc) are required to continue this process throughout their careers and you will be encouraged to continue supervision after that time.
I am an Advanced Practitioner with the G.H.R. and also an accredited supervisor; I have completed a Certificate in Clinical Supervision that's approved by the BPS (British Psychological Society), the only UK psychology and psychotherapy body established by Royal Charter and one of the primary national leads in determining national recommendation on clinical supervision across a range of groups and helping professions. I also train supervisors, and anyone who has completed that course and has the relevant number of years in practice is automatically accepted as a supervisor by the GHR and BSOH.
I am listed by the GHR, APHP, and ACCPH as a hypnotherapy supervisor. I have a number of supervisees that belong to other professional bodies as well, but this depends on their rules about what they consider to be suitable supervision. Some organisations have a list of pre-vetted supervisors and expect you to choose from that list. Some will accept supervision with anyone they see as suitably qualified. Please ask for details.
Other therapists are welcome to connect with me via social media - links are at the top of each page of this site.
I also run an online magazine and an email newsletter, both aimed at hypnotherapy practitioners, students and those considering training.
